How Will You Teach Ella?

I have three ways I plan on using technology in my learning environment.

As a special needs teacher I plan on using many tools that allow my students to interact with the class as much as possible. Some students have a very tough time communicating, and to help them out the first tool that I will enable them to have are communication devices. This could be simple things such as voice boxes where they push a button in front of them that will communicate. In my room communication is important and I want to be able to help my students as much as I can.

Another way that I believe I can use technology in my classroom is to have my class set up their own blog. Even if the students cannot type I will find a way for my students to post a digital journal online of the classroom activities. This will enable them to give their own opinion of the class activities, assignments, and events.

Finally I want to involove the parents of my stdents as much as I possible can. (Especially if my old educational technology professor is one of the parents) I will do this by having a class blog that I make. I will email to the parents a screen cast of how to navigate and access the blog, and on the blog I can inform the parents of classroom activities, upcoming events, and Homework. I believe this will be an excellent way for the parents to become involved and get an idea of what I am teaching thier children.
